Zebulon, North Carolina
Pressure Washing in Zebulon, NC: Century-Old Homes to New Construction
Zebulon sits in the easternmost corner of Wake County, about twenty miles east of Raleigh, in the words of its National Register nomination, and its historic district counts 318 contributing resources built between 1906 and 1971. Around that grid, the town grew 13.9 percent between 2024 and 2025, the second-highest rate among North Carolina's cities and towns. Old wood, old brick and new vinyl all get a low-pressure soft wash, and only concrete takes high pressure.

Twenty Miles East of Raleigh, in Wake County's Easternmost Corner
The Zebulon Historic District nomination, prepared for the National Park Service and presented through the NC State Historic Preservation Office, places the town "in the easternmost corner of Wake County, approximately three miles from the intersection of Wake, Franklin, Nash, and Johnston counties, and approximately twenty miles east of Raleigh," and "just south of U.S. Highways 64 and 264." The same document dates the town from the Raleigh and Pamlico Sound Railroad: the railroad was completed and the first buildings went up in 1906, and the town was incorporated in 1907.
The newer half of Zebulon is measured in growth figures. The NC Office of State Budget and Management, reading the Census Bureau's estimates, listed Zebulon's 11.1 percent growth from July 2023 to July 2024 as 91st among the fastest-growing municipalities in the nation, and its 51.9 percent growth from April 2020 to July 2024 as 74th. For the following year, Carolina Demography at UNC-Chapel Hill reported that Zebulon "saw the second-highest growth (13.9%)" among North Carolina's cities and towns between 2024 and 2025.
Growth on that scale means new siding, new roofs and new driveways. New vinyl gets the same soft wash house washing as old: a cleaning solution at low pressure, time to work, then a rinse. A new asphalt roof with dark streaks gets a roof soft wash, never a pressure washer; the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association says there is no evidence that the algae behind those streaks damages shingles, so the streaks are a cosmetic matter, and a gentle method is the only sensible one. New concrete takes a driveway cleaning at high pressure once it has cured.
The Zebulon Historic District: 318 Contributing Resources, 1906 to 1971
The Zebulon Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on 22 August 2022. Its nomination gives 158.5 acres, a period of significance from 1906 to 1971, and 318 contributing resources, 307 of them buildings. It is roughly bounded by North Arendell and East Gannon Avenues; North Gill, East Horton, West Judd, East and West Sycamore, West Vance, North Wakefield and North Whitley Streets; Rotary Drive; and the former Raleigh and Pamlico Sound Railroad tracks. The town is laid out on a grid running north from the railroad, and the district is largely residential, with commercial buildings downtown.
The nomination also records a detail that matters to anyone cleaning these houses: common changes within the district include "the installation of vinyl, aluminum, or other synthetic siding." A 1920s house in the district may have its original wood siding, or vinyl or aluminum laid over it. Each calls for low pressure. Aluminum siding can carry an oxidized, chalky surface, and the guide on chalky residue on siding explains why that needs a gentle approach rather than more force.
At the district's north end stands the Wakelon School at 1001 North Arendell Avenue, in the nomination's listing: a two-story brick school in the Italianate and Neoclassical styles, with a front block built in 1908-1909 and a rear block added in 1913-1914. It was listed on the National Register on its own in 1976, and the district nomination counts it again. Its red brick is set off with tan brick quoins and panels. On brick of that age, the approach is a cleaning solution at low pressure with dwell time, tried first on a spot out of sight, so that the mortar joints are not washed out.
Zebulon's Utility Merged Into Raleigh's System
The City of Raleigh's page for its merger communities says "The City of Raleigh provides water and sewer in Raleigh, Garner, Knightdale, Rolesville, Wake Forest, Wendell, and Zebulon," after each town's council agreed to transfer easement rights and merge its utility system with the city's water, sewer and reuse systems. So Zebulon has no water-shortage plan of its own to read: a Zebulon customer follows Raleigh's Water Shortage Response Plan.
That plan's Stage 3 is the one that stops outdoor washing. It takes effect when the City Manager finds that the water supply in Falls Lake has reached 90 days or less, or on a date the City Council adopts. At that stage the plan's summary table marks pressure washing "Prohibited except for sanitary, health exceptions or reclaimed waters," and the Stage 3 text makes washing driveways, patios, decks and exterior building surfaces "strictly prohibited" outside the public health and sanitary exception. Below Stage 3, the table marks pressure washing as allowed.
Raleigh's alert of 3 August 2026 lifted Stage 1, and no later alert on the subject had been posted when this page was checked on 27 September 2026. The live stage is on Raleigh's Water Supply Status and Conservation Stages page. The guide to pressure washing and water restrictions lays Raleigh's table next to the other utilities in the area this site covers.
Five County Stadium's New Operator and Little River Park
Five County Stadium, at 1501 NC-39, was the home of the Carolina Mudcats through the 2025 season. Wake County's news release on the change says the Mudcats left for a new stadium in Wilson at the end of the 2025 season, and that as of 1 January 2026 Capitol Broadcasting Company took over operations. Under that lease the stadium is to host a Coastal Plain League baseball team and Wake Technical Community College baseball, softball and soccer programs starting in 2026.
Large concrete concourses, block buildings and parking areas are commercial flatwork. Commercial pressure washing is priced from the cost page's commercial band, $0.10 to $0.30 per square foot, after a walk-through of the property, for any commercial property in Zebulon.
Little River Park, at 1800 West Gannon Avenue, sits on the Little River, and the town's parks and recreation listing calls it "one of the oldest parks in Zebulon," known for its river, fishing and sandy areas. Gannon Avenue runs across town: its eastern end is one of the historic district's boundary streets.

We measure the surfaces, check the siding type, roof pitch, and water access, and give you a written price before anything is scheduled. No vague per-hour ranges.
Plan & Protect
You get a clear scope of which surfaces are included and which method each one gets. We pre-wet and rinse the beds, because the cleaning solution will damage plants if nobody manages the runoff.
Right Method, Right Surface
Soft wash on siding, roofs, and wood, where chemistry and dwell time do the work at low pressure. High pressure only on concrete, where it belongs. Wrong pressure on the wrong surface is the expensive mistake.
Final Rinse & Walk-Through
Everything rinsed down, plants flushed again, and a walk-through with you before we leave. If a stain did not come out, we tell you why rather than hoping you do not notice.

Zebulon Pressure Washing Questions, Answered
Zebulon is about twenty miles east of Raleigh. Is it in the area this site covers?
Yes. The business is based in Garner, and Zebulon, at the eastern corner of Wake County, is in the area it covers, including the historic district and the newer streets around it.
Is a Zebulon quote priced from a different table than a Garner one?
No. The Garner cost table prints no per-town price. A house wash runs $200 to $300 for a single-story home and $300 to $450 for a two-story, a two-car driveway $130 to $250, and a roof soft wash $400 to $700. The exact price is in writing before anything starts.
My house is in the Zebulon Historic District and has vinyl over the original siding. How should it be washed?
With a low-pressure soft wash, the same as the original wood would get. The district's nomination names added vinyl, aluminum and other synthetic siding as a common change there, and high pressure aimed upward can drive water behind vinyl laps or into the older wall behind them. Chemistry at low pressure, with time to work, does the cleaning instead.
Zebulon's water comes from Raleigh. When would a drought stop a wash here?
At Raleigh's Stage 3. Zebulon's utility merged into the City of Raleigh's system, and Raleigh's plan marks pressure washing allowed below Stage 3 and prohibited at Stage 3 except for sanitary and health reasons or reclaimed water. Stage 3 follows a City Manager finding that Falls Lake holds 90 days of supply or less, or a date City Council adopts.
How is commercial washing priced for a Zebulon business or facility?
By area. The cost page's commercial band is $0.10 to $0.30 per square foot for flatwork and buildings, and commercial work starts with a walk-through of the property before a written price.
