Incorporated 3 November 2009, Around the Buffalo Road Crossroads
The Town of Archer Lodge gives its incorporation date as 3 November 2009. The town hall is at 14094 Buffalo Road, and Johnston County's visitor bureau describes Archer Lodge as "a vital farming community in northwestern Johnston County for more than 150 years," naming Pace Family Strawberry Farm on Buffalo Road as a working pick-your-own farm. A town that old as a community and that new as a municipality holds both kinds of property: farmhouses and outbuildings on long-held land, and houses built in the years around and after incorporation.
The town's first municipal park shows how recent the civic side is. The town's history page records that the town bought 30.5 acres on Castleberry Road for $600,000, broke ground on 3 April 2022, and held the grand opening of Archer Lodge Community Park on 14 March 2024. The Archer Lodge Community Center, with its athletic fields and playground, is the other public gathering place in town.
Newer houses still need cleaning. Algae, pollen and dust settle on siding of any age, and on vinyl the answer is a soft wash house washing: a cleaning solution at low pressure, time to work, then a rinse, never a high-pressure stream aimed up under the laps. A driveway poured in the last few months needs to cure before its first high-pressure clean; the guide on when new concrete is ready for pressure washing covers the timing. Pricing comes from the Garner cost table, the same table used for every town the site covers.
Covered Bridge Road's Three-Lane Widening, 2026 to 2028
NCDOT project W-5704E widens about a mile and a half of Covered Bridge Road, from west of Helena Lane to east of Buffalo Road, from two lanes to three with a center turn lane. The town's project FAQ page says the contractor can begin roadway work on 1 September 2026, that roadway construction is set to be substantially completed by 30 June 2028, and that the three-lane section is expected to accommodate the projected 20-year traffic growth. The speed limit within the project limits will be 45 mph.
Road work raises dust, and dust settles on the nearest walls, windows and driveways. How much reaches any one house depends on distance, wind and the stage of the work, so no page can say what a given property will see. If a house near the corridor does pick up a film of dust, it is ordinary surface soil, and a low-pressure soft wash removes it from siding the same way it removes pollen. On a driveway, a driveway and concrete cleaning takes it off with high pressure, which concrete can handle.
A homeowner who would rather wait for the construction to finish can plan the wash for after the 30 June 2028 target. One who would rather not wait can have the house washed now; the written quote describes each surface and the method it gets.
Johnston County Water, and a Well Permit Step for New Building
The town's own water page says: "Water services are provided by the Public Utilities Department of Johnston County." Johnston County's Mandatory Water Conservation Policy, adopted 1 April 2008, says "Water restrictions do not apply to washing cars, pressure washing houses or driveways," and sets an irrigation schedule by address (odd numbers on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, even numbers on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, none on Monday). The county issued a water shortage advisory on 9 June 2026; its page on the advisory said it had been rescinded when checked on 27 September 2026. The guide to pressure washing and water restrictions sets the county's rule beside those of the other utilities in the area.
The town's Development Permitting Process also lists, as its second step, "Complete Johnston County Environmental Health Department Well and/or Septic Application," and the town's own Development Zoning Permit follows the county permit. No source read for this page says how many Archer Lodge properties use a private well rather than county water, so this page does not guess.
A well matters to exterior cleaning in one way: well water can carry dissolved iron, and iron in water that lands on concrete or siding can leave orange staining. That staining is a chemistry problem, and rust and stain removal treats it with a product made to dissolve the stain rather than with more pressure. A county water customer and a well owner pay from the same price table.
A 1913 Soil Survey and Red Clay on Concrete
An early soil record for the county is the 1913 Soil Survey of Johnston County by the USDA Bureau of Soils and the NC Department of Agriculture, digitized by East Carolina University. It says "approximately one-sixth of the county, embracing the northern end," belongs to the Piedmont Plateau region, with tongues of that province reaching down the Neuse River, and it describes the Cecil series there as having "stiff red clay subsoils." That is a county-scale survey more than a century old, not a reading of any Archer Lodge lot, and no modern parcel survey was read for this page.
Where a lot does have red clay in its subsoil, grading and foot traffic can carry it onto concrete, where it sets as an orange-brown stain that a garden hose will not lift. Pressure alone can smear it deeper into the surface. The guide on getting red clay off concrete explains why, and the treatment is the same chemistry used on iron staining.
On siding, clay splash along the bottom course is cleaned with the rest of the wall by a low-pressure soft wash, with a stain treatment on any mark the wash leaves. Wood fences and decks get the deck and fence washing method, low pressure and a cleaner suited to wood, because a high-pressure stream raises and splinters the grain.

We measure the surfaces, check the siding type, roof pitch, and water access, and give you a written price before anything is scheduled. No vague per-hour ranges.
Plan & Protect
You get a clear scope of which surfaces are included and which method each one gets. We pre-wet and rinse the beds, because the cleaning solution will damage plants if nobody manages the runoff.
Right Method, Right Surface
Soft wash on siding, roofs, and wood, where chemistry and dwell time do the work at low pressure. High pressure only on concrete, where it belongs. Wrong pressure on the wrong surface is the expensive mistake.
Final Rinse & Walk-Through
Everything rinsed down, plants flushed again, and a walk-through with you before we leave. If a stain did not come out, we tell you why rather than hoping you do not notice.

Archer Lodge Pressure Washing Questions, Answered
Archer Lodge became a town in 2009. Is the town inside this site's service area?
Yes. The business is based in Garner, and Archer Lodge, in northern Johnston County, is in the area it covers, from the town center on Buffalo Road to the outlying farm roads.
Which price table applies to an Archer Lodge house?
The Garner cost table: a single-story house wash $200 to $300, a two-story $300 to $450, a two-car driveway $130 to $250, and a roof soft wash $400 to $700. An Archer Lodge address gets a written price before anything starts.
Can I have my house pressure washed during a Johnston County water advisory?
Johnston County's Mandatory Water Conservation Policy says its water restrictions do not apply to washing cars, pressure washing houses or driveways. That covers properties on county water. For a private well, the practical limit in a dry spell is the well's own yield.
Is my Archer Lodge property on county water or a well?
Your water bill answers it: Johnston County Public Utilities bills county water customers. The town's permitting process includes a county well and septic application step for new development, so ask the county or check your bill rather than assuming. The price table is the same either way.
When does the Covered Bridge Road widening start and finish?
The town's project page says NCDOT's contractor can begin roadway work on 1 September 2026 and that roadway construction is set to be substantially completed by 30 June 2028. The project widens Covered Bridge Road from west of Helena Lane to east of Buffalo Road to three lanes.
